My first time to Europe was in February of 1994 to attend the Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway. I went as a spectator and tried to see a little bit of everything during my 10 days there.

On my last night I walked home from the bus station at 1 a.m to my room in a private home in Hamar. The streets were silent and dark. I passed the area where the ice carving competition had taken place and decided to use the last of my film on these temporary works of art.

I do not remember any of the camera information, other than it was yellow and a Canon and a point and shoot with no setting changes possible. Considering the temperature never went above freezing, it was a pretty impressive little thing with a built-in flash that made this downhill skier glow in the blackness of the Norwegian night.
