The 2001 World Figure Skating Championships were held in Vancouver, Canada. While most of the photographers I usually work with chose to shoot from the judges' side, I took a little nook by the kiss and cry. The seats were a little low and it was difficult to sit up high enough to see over the boards. The night of the pairs free skate, however, I worked my way around an extremely nasty, evil security guard to have a good angle of Canadian's Jamie Salé and David Pelletier with their then-coach Richard Gautier. When their scores came up, they realized they had won the gold.

This is that moment.
