The 2001-2002 Olympic Season concluded with the Hershey Kisses Great American Figure Skating Challenge in New Haven, Connecticut in April. It was an unseasonably hot day and the arena's compressor broke. By the end of the evening, the ice had a layer of water on top that was quite deep. Bad for skaters (like Michelle Kwan, above) but the reflection was not something we often see and made for some interesting effects.
