When I arrived at IMG's rooftop for my photo shoot with Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman for the March/April 2003 issue of Blades on Ice magazine, it was still fairly early in the morning. John & Kyoko's agent, David Baden, has a balcony outside his office, a few flights down from the roof. With the sky having no clouds, I knew there would be some cool shadow action happening in about an hour when the sun hit the bars protecting the balcony.

For the last outfit change, now that it had slightly warmed up (possibly making it out of the teens!) John and Kyoko put on sweaters and headed out onto David's balcony. I stayed up on the roof, swinging one leg over the edge to give me the angle I wanted. Through pantomime and shouting over the New York City noise, I got John and Kyoko lined up in unison and kept the shadow off their faces as best as possible.

It's just a different look than usual for them and for me, and is still one of my favorite photos ever.

Technical information unrecorded.
