At the 2000 World Figure Skating Championships in Nice, France, my photo position was in the TV camera pit center ice opposite the judges. Worlds that year, especially in dance, was insane. With France's Marina Anissina and Gwendal Peizerat favored to win their first world title at home, the crowds were huge, loud, and a little scary at times. (The competition venue was not a regular ice arena, and the temporary stands made a lot of noise--and a lot of movement.)

This photo was taken during the Latin combination original dance. Fringe was flying. Hair was whipping. Hands were clutching. It was a wild ride.

Canon Elan II body, Canon 80-200/2.8 lens, Fuji Press 800 film. Manual 1/500 at 2.8.
