Yankee Polka Senior Compulsory Dance

The best place to photograph compulsory dances is behind the judges. The skaters do photo-friendly opening and closing poses. At 2003 LPIDC, however, I was opposite the judges. For CDs, a few moments in the pattern are the "it" moments when the position is a perfect photo op. For the Yankee Polka, it is the kick out at center ice.  For team after team I clicked at this spot.  Hillary and Justin hit that spot best. Their bodies make this blue chiffon double helix.
